Depaul
Depaul Croatia - also known as Depaul Hrvatska, operates in the western port city of Rijeka supporting hundreds of the municipality’s homeless population. Depaul began work in Croatia in 2018 in response to the need for more comprehensive homelessness services.
Depaul’s Rijeka day centre offers a range of support options from meals to hygiene to counselling, and is unique in being open every day of the week, including on Sunday. Depaul works closely with the Sisters of Charity in the centre, who have a long history of working with those who are homeless in Croatia.
Depaul also runs innovative targeted services, facilitating healthcare treatment for homeless people and operating an outreach programme assisting the most entrenched homeless people in the city who have high support needs.
