The 400Toits campaign, which was launched in 2017, is led by several Brussels associations that aim, ultimately, to end homelessness. This campaign is part of a broader movement, joining the European Homelessness Campaign coordinated by World Habitat, as well as the global campaign “A place to call home” led by the Institute of Global Homelessness.
The campaign aims to rehouse in a sustainable way, by the end of 2020, 400 homeless people in the Brussels-Capital region. The figure 400 refers to the 2014 official street count organised by La Strada.
The actions of the campaign are grouped around three missions:
CONVINCE - Convince and mobilize the general public and public authorities of the possibility, necessity and urgency of ending homelessness;
FEDERATE - Federate all forces and coordinate them to end homelessness by mobilizing all skills from academic, professional and experiential knowledge;
ACT - Create and capture housing and rehouse sustainably people living in the street with appropriate support.
